Babiana

A dwarf genus made up of 88 different species.  They are popular among growers for their brightly coloured, sweetly scented flowers, and their attractive pleated leaves.  All species require full sun, and do well in 25cm pots provided they have a dry summer dormant period. They do best in a well-drained medium of river sand and a little compost.
